After applying, how will I know I have been accepted into the program?

Once a decision has been reached, you will be notified via email regarding your status.

Are there any additional fees as a member once accepted into the program?

Approved applicants will be charged a one-time processing fee of $350. Once this fee has been paid, there are no additional fees during your class.

Once you have successfully completed your class, you may decide to continue on with the TEN Program by becoming a Continuing Program Member. The fee to become a Continuing Program Member is $350 per year.

Can I apply to the program at any time?

Yes! Feel free to apply to the TEN Program at your convenience. There are two 6-month classes per year.  We are accepting applications for Class VII, which will begin May 2009.  Please submit an application form, a one- to three-page non-confidential executive summary describing your business, and a summary of your professional background for review and acceptance into the next six-month program. Class size is limited to 20 participants per class to allow for maximum interaction.

Do I need to attend all the programs to maintain my membership?

You do not need to attend all the programs to maintain your membership. If you are unable to attend a particular program/event due to your schedule, you are able to send another senior manager in your place.

How can TEN help my company grow?

Through networking, TEN Members not only get to connect with other TEN Members but also with the speakers and panelists who conduct our workshops. These connections can serve as a valuable resource when your company needs outside advice or begins to expand.

How long after applying can I expect notification of status?

Once you apply, you will receive an automatic email confirming that you have applied for our 6-month program. Notification of acceptance into the 6-month program is conducted 3 - 4 weeks prior to the start of the program.

Once accepted into the program, what if I am unable to attend a Private Event?

If you are unable to attend a private event, you are able to have another senior level manager attend in your place.

What does the 6-month program consist of?

The 6-month program consists of Boot Camp Classes and Workshops.  The Entrepreneurship Boot Camp and the Sales Effectiveness Boot Camp conducted by Derby Management are 2 1/2 days long. Workshops included are:  Investor Presentation Workshop - 2 day workshop; The Leadership Workshop, Building Financial Models Workhop and the Negotiating Term Sheets Workshop; each are conducted in one day.

What happens after the 6-month program?

Once you have successfully completed the 6-month program, you are eligible to become a Continuing Program Member.

As a Continuing Program Member, you are able to attend the Private Events (based on availability), attend Public Events at no extra cost and stay connected with other TEN Members and TEN speakers/panelists. The cost to become a Continuing Program Member is $350 per year.

What is the criteria for a company applying to the TEN Program?

Candidates should be founders, senior executives, CEO's or hold a controlling position in an early stage technology, life science, family-owned and/or scalable, high-revenue potential company; with business operations primarily in Upstate New York.

What is the time commitment of the program?

The TEN Program consists of one class per month for six months. Additionally, during the six month time frame, TEN will conduct public events that you may also attend.

The Boot Camps are conducted over 2 1/2 days and most of the workshops are conducted in one day.

When I register for a public event am I considered a TEN Member?

Registering for a Public Event does not qualify you as a TEN Member.

TEN Members need to be accepted into, participate and complete the 6-month program.

Who is considered a TEN Member?

A TEN Member is one who has been accepted into, participated,and successfully completed the 6-month program.
